Lynchburg City Closures

As a precaution against the possibility of contamination and the spread of COVID-19, several
City of Lynchburg facilities have closed or will be closing to the public. In most cases, the
employees at these facilities will continue to work there or from home.
The Lynchburg Public Library, located at 2315 Memorial Avenue, and its Downtown Branch
Library, located in City Hall at 900 Church Street, will be closed to walk-in patrons effective
today, Wednesday, March 18 at 5:30 p.m. Both libraries will remain closed until Tuesday,
March 31. The libraries will provide curbside service that will allow patrons to reserve materials
online or by phone and to pick up the items at curbside. Library staff is working on the details
and hope to have this service in place by Monday, March 23. Patrons are encouraged to visit the
Library’s website next week at lynchburgpubliclibrary.org or call 455-6300 for more
information.
